First Aid, Fire Fighting and Basic Health & Safety, all within 3 months of taking Sea Survival
Will I need any other courses & when?
Yes, Safety Awareness, between 6 months and 2 years after taking Sea Survival
Do I have to pay?
Yes, First Aid, Basic Health & Safety and Safety Awareness all £150 each. Sea Survival and Fire Fighting £170.
Do I get any courses funded?
Yes, after completing Safety Awareness and working at least 4 weeks within the last 2 years on a commercial fishing vessel all refreshers (apart from Basic Health & Safety) are funded
What do I need to get my skippers certificate?
After completing all the mandatory courses above you will need Stability courses, radio course, navigation course and engine course. All can be funded, most are 1 day except navigation and engine.
